Hi, I’m Tonya — an illustrator, storyteller and big believer in the power of imagination.

Ever since I was little, drawing has been my favourite way to make sense of the world. I grew up creating characters, inventing stories and sketching “Anky” — my imaginary friend who just happened to be an ankylosaurus. From dinosaurs to dream worlds, creativity has always been part of who I am.

These days, my creativity goes far beyond drawing. Alongside illustration, I also write, sing and make all kinds of things — because for me, creativity isn’t something that fits into one box. Whether I’m building a narrative, designing characters, crafting handmade ideas or performing music, I love finding ways to bring emotion, personality and imagination to life.

My work combines playful visuals with meaningful storytelling, often exploring communication, identity, connection and inclusivity.

I’m passionate about creating art that feels expressive, emotionally honest and full of character.

 

My mission as an illustrator is to create work that makes people feel seen, sparks curiosity and adds a little more colour, comfort and joy into the world. I want my art to connect with people emotionally while still feeling fun, bold, imaginative and unmistakably human.

 

When I’m not creating, you’ll probably find me collecting inspiration from films, music, fantasy worlds, pop culture and the strange little moments in everyday life that most people walk past without noticing. Because to me, creativity is everywhere.
